Andrea Melloni elected OSA Fellow

Andrea Melloni of the Photonic Devices Research Group was elected as a Fellow Member of the Optical Society (OSA)
Founded in 1916, the Optical Society (OSA) is the leading professional society for scientists, engineers, students and business leaders, who fuel discoveries, shape real-world applications and accelerate achievements in the science of light. Through world-renowned publications, meetings and membership programs, OSA provides quality research, inspired interactions and dedicated resources for its extensive global network of professionals in optics and photonics.
Fellow membership in OSA is limited to no more than ten percent of the membership and is reserved for members who have served with distinction in the advancement of optics. Prof. Melloni is being honored specifically for significant contributions to the development of high-index-contrast, waveguide-based, integrated-optical circuits, with application in advanced optical communications.
