PoliFab

The Photonic Devices group has access to the PoliFab cleanroom facility;the new micro and nanotechnology facility of the Politecnico di Milano. It is located in the central Leonardo Campus, thus denoting the strong commitment of the University to scientific research. PoliFAB provides high technological equipments and processes for a wide range of applications, including the five Key Enabling Technologies identified by the European Commission: photonics, micro and nanoelectronics, biotechnologies, advanced materials and nanotechnology.

PoliFAB has a twofold mission: on the one hand supports and boosts the activities of the research groups of Politecnico, on the other acts as an aggregation center for collaborations between the University and industries, providing high-technology means and know-how for industrial applications. The technological capabilities provide a flexible support for proof-of-concepts on materials processes and devices, as well as a fast prototyping of innovative devices in the fields of photonics, microfluidics, micromechanics, spintronics, magneto devices, organic electronics, etc.

Several research groups and laboratories from the Department of Electronics Information and Bioengineering, the Department of Physics and CIFE Foundation, working in the fields of nanoelectronics, photonics, nanomagnetism and photovoltaics, are in close collaboration with PoliFAB.
