Andres Ivan Martinez Rojas
Postdoctoral Researcher
Telecommunications Engineer specialized in optical and RF communications systems. His research focuses on photonic integrated circuits for optical communication systems, in particular for FSO applications.
Andres Martinez was born in 1997. He received the M.Sc. degree in telecommunication engineering from the Politecnico di Milano. In March 2022, he joined the Photonic Devices Group at Politecnico di Milano as a researcher. In March 2023, he began his Ph.D., graduating Cum Laude in February 2026. Currently, he is a postdoctoral researcher. His work is primarily focused on the analysis, design, characterization, and exploitation of passive integrated optical devices for telecommunications, particularly for free-space optics applications and plasmonic sensors. He is currently part of the RESTART research and development program, focusing on the HePIC and the PIX Europe pilot line project. He was part of the EU Project NEBULA.
